Install Fireball Connect for VS Code

The VS Code extension that connects your editor to Fireball Wrangler.

You need

  • VS Code 1.90 or later (or Cursor, Windsurf).
  • Fireball Wrangler on this Mac or the local network.

Install From VSIX

Use the downloaded extension package.

  1. Open Extensions

    In VS Code, open Extensions, then the … menu at the top.

  2. Install From VSIX

    Choose Install from VSIX… and pick FireballConnect.vsix in Downloads.

Terminal

Install it with the code command.

  1. Install it

    In Terminal, go to Downloads and run:

    code --install-extension FireballConnect.vsix

The first time it opens

Open the Fireball view in VS Code (the flame icon in the Activity Bar). In Wrangler, turn on Settings ▸ Network ▸ Pair With Code, then click Connect Everything and type the code Wrangler shows.

If something's off

How do I update?
Download the newer VSIX and install it the same way.
